In a few weeks I am headed south of the border with some of my fellow Canadian haunter buddies to the West Coast Haunters Convention. I’m all registered, and I’ve got my tickets for the haunt tours and the charity costume ball.
…. I don’t have a costume. Aaack!! But I do have something in mind… just hoping I can pull it all together and have it look decent. I have started collecting my supplies this weekend and will need to make a few things this next week. (Yeah, it’s technically Monday, but in Canada it’s a holiday Monday. Long weekend! Woooo)
One thing I will need for this costume is a brain, and I don’t have one. (Ah, yes, there I said it… quick get you’re jokes in… I need a brain… haha!) I want a light weight brain, so I was going to make one with some light materials and caulking but decided I may as well try to make a brain mold instead so i can later have more brains (and again…leaving you open for brain jokes) for the haunt in August or October. Plus, I can make the replicas quickly in light weight 2 part foam. Hopefully it all works.
Last night I got out some clay and tried my hand at brain sculpting. I think it turned out brainy looking, and it was quick and fun to create. Today I will get out the dragon skin and mold it. Crossing fingers.
