An update …

I am still waiting on surgery! I was supposed to go in on July 30th, but the hospital had to cancel all surgeries that day due to the heat wave we were experiencing. The air conditioners couldn’t keep up, and the humidity in the operating room was showing at 85%, which creates a nice environment for bacteria to grow on sterile objects. On top of that, the hospital was experiencing a bed shortage, as quite often happens during a heat wave.

So for now I am resting a fair bit. I have good days and bad but so long as I try not to over do anything, I am managing fine. I was even able to go to the annual haunt gathering in our area recently, which I would not have been able to go to at all had the surgery gone ahead on schedule. I will add a post about that separately though.

I am now on a waiting list for surgery, and have been rescheduled for September 10th if I can’t get in sooner.
